Woolacombe Sands Beach in North Devon is a Blue Flag winner and is made up of
fine golden sand and dunes, not only is it a safe beach for bathing it also has
great surfing conditions and facilities for windsurfing and canoeing making it
popular for all the family.Seasonal facilities include lifeguards, beach huts and deckchair hire. Woolacombe Sands has around two miles of sandy beach and is backed by Woolacombe Downs which is owned by the National trust. The pretty village of Woolacombe is situated to the north of the beach, the village is lively and is home to some great pubs.
Ilfracombe is the nearest town and there are regular bus services connecting Woolacombe to Barnstaple and Ilfracombe.
